Half-inch gas branch left in place after a tankless conversion
Why here: Plano's 1970s-1990s homes were piped for a 40,000 BTU atmospheric tank. A 199,000 BTU tankless unit needs roughly five times the gas volume, and the original branch starves it under full fire.
What we do: We run a whole-house gas load calculation, then upsize the branch from half-inch to three-quarter inch or pull a dedicated line from the meter. Where total connected load exceeds the meter, we coordinate a meter upgrade with the utility.
