Attic condensate line freezing in the first hard cold snap
Why here: A condensing unit produces acidic condensate continuously. In a vented North Texas attic, an uninsulated PVC run to the eave will ice over and back the drain up into the unit.
What we do: We route condensate to a conditioned drain where possible, insulate any run that has to stay in the attic, and add a neutralizer cartridge so the discharge is not acidic where it lands.
